On this day:

5.5 Miles Approx (sans breakfast), plus 1 hour Body Balance

Ran the Circuit Lane, Kennet & Avon Canal, Cumbrian Way route in 34:50 in my Diadora Mythos Axler's. Hip getting better, but still feels odd at times. Right shin slightly worse than yesterday, but nothing major (yet). I forgot how crappy pre-breakfast runs feel. I guess I'd better start getting used to them again :(
Followed my run with an hours Body Balance class. Not a lot to say about it really, maybe it over-stretches my calves slightly, as my shins were murder after the class.

I'm trying to establish why my shins are flaring up again, and I can only think of 3 potential causes -
  1. Ibuprofen use, might just be a conincedence though.
  2. Carrying hip injury, thus putting more weight through right leg
  3. Over-stretching in Body Balance classes
I can necessarily pin an exact course, so I'll try and address all 3 potential causes. I'll knock Ibuprofen use on the head, totally (there's always alternative anti-inflammatories, such as ice & emu oil). I may also take some time off until this hip clears up. Furthermore I'll stop doing body balance and see if that has a positive effect; I can stretch at home, in a more controlled fashion.
