On this day:

20 Minutes Steady 3 miles approx, followed by 1 hour Body Balance

I ran 20 minutes steady (~6 minute/mile pace?) down to Prospect Park & 1 lap around it in my Diadora Mythos Axler's. Hip felt pretty good, only twinged a few times., mostly on the rutted off road bits.

I followed this with an hours worth of Body Balance, a Tai-Chi, Pilates, Yoga combo class. The core work was quite tough, and I am gob-smackingly inflexible. I think I'm going to integrate some more of this work now, just to get my basic lower back & gluteal flexibility back up to minumum levels. Spoke to George Anderson afterwards, an experienced fitness instructor & ex-Loughborough Middle Distance sensation, about exercises that might help my hip/arse problem. We're going with single legged deep squats, lunges & barbell bench step ups, emphasizing on driving off the lead leg, pushing through the heel.
