Sunday 29th January (8miles)

Finch Coasters x-country. 8th which has pretty much sown up the bronze in the club championship. The pace was vicious at the start but felt comfortable from about a mile out. I am not saying I would have finished futher up the field if id not had a bad leg (but, well I would have been at least 5th). Im going to take a full week of now as ive got no races till early march. I may also be blogless as i'm moving and don't have a computer (yet). Ill see you all soon, happy running.

Friday 20th January

I've rested to make sure I can complete tommorows 16-20 without a hitch (porridge for breki). Calf is much better no obvious pain when going up on to my toes and no loss of strength either. 9+ hours of sleep helps tho'.

Wednesday 18th January (7.5 miles)

When will i learn not to wear flats with a calf strain????

Still its not that bad, 2 mile warm up 3x2000m with 3min (aprox) recoverys run in 6:40,43 and 36. With a 1.5 mile cool down. I ran with Craig, Toby and Nigel. A good group really, the pace was comfortable and I would've done a 4th rep exept my calf was not playing ball, feels much better today thou (thursday) Please note this session was supposed to be 84 second laps but ended up around 80s (oh well).

Note to Nigel 2000m is 5 laps (tee hee)

Monday 16th January (5.5 miles)

Loop untimed. Very sore right calf and Achillies, but other than that not to bad considering the effort less than 24hrs ago. I've got a 20 miler (with pull out options at 16) at 7-7:30 pace booked with the boyz for Saturday (Toby, Craig, Nigel, and possibly Nevil ) Me Nigel and Nev will more than likely just do the 16, but it should be good for a laugh if we can keep the pace down.

Sunday 15th January (10 miles) 47 this week

2 mile warm up and cool down. County x-country champs, the course was supposed to be 12k but was more like 10, 11 absolute max. 1st team (yipee), 7th overall and made the County selection (yipee). I beat Nigel for the first time in a while, very close to Craig ( a few seconds). Worked to hard from the start so the middle lap was a BITCH but Craig caught and pulled me round the last lap and a half.
Best run of the season so far I would say.
TOBY-37:47 (4th)
CRAIG-39:05 (6th)
ME-39:06 (7th)
NIGEL- 39:45 (10th)

Sunday 8th January (8 miles) 39 this week

Good run. Tadley x-country 4th place. I lost 3rd rather than gained 4th, due to a bad choice of footwear. I should have gone for shorter spikes or studs. Never the less I was up with an inform Toby till mile 3.5 (he finished a comfortable 2nd in the end).
