Saturday 1st October

No run.. well deserved rest (well traipsing around Londinium) 59 miles this past week

Friday 30th Septembers run ( 17 miles)

1hr 52min. I ran from my house to MR.Cod, on to Tilehurst road. Up the Bath road, two laps of the loop, and back. I added an extra 5min on to the end by going past the fire station rather than down the way I came up.
Good run overall Piriformis was twitching a bit but feels 100% now and eased off to the point that by 50min I'd stopped thinking about it. I felt much smoother and better at the end today than I did on last weeks 15 miler.

Thursday 29th Septembers run (5 miles)

5 Recovery run from home, felt better than Tuesday, but my left piriformis is starting to niggle again. Not anywhere as bad or a sudden as last time, but still!!

Wednesday 28th Septembers run (12 miles)

Much better than yesterday, recovery runs seem to be working as well as rest. I ran 2 laps of the loop (plus 1mile), the first one with Craig in about 36:30. The second lap I stayed at an easy pace until after the train tracks, ran hard from there back to Craigs in about 25 minutes. With a guess that Craigs to the train track is about 6 min at a hard pace, basically it was a pb pace over the course. The long running is starting to pay off, normally at 10-12 miles I start to feel it in my legs regardless of pace, today I could have done the whole thing again.

Tuesday 27th Septembers run ( 5miles)

Out to the bench and back. Not timed today, legs feel ok but 'slow' wouldn't have liked to have to run fast today. Everything was a bit tight today, range of movement was below par and calves where both tight. Stretched everything off (p.n.f) and seem to be a bit looser this afternoon.

Monday 26th Septembers run (11 miles)

11 miles easy, out along the river from my house. Pretty even pace, just 30 seconds slower on the way back (headwind) Legs feel ok considering I went too fast yesterday.

Sunday 25th Septembers run (9 miles)

9 miles from home, with last 4 at half marathon pace. I ran to the park and did the 'loop' course backwards for 24min (started my watch over the bridge on the other side of the river) got to Tesco on the Bath road, jogged home. Hammered the run much faster than I was supposed to go. Bloody flys, dusk is not a good time to run on a river bank. 42 miles this week with 2 days off,

Saturday 24th September

DAY OFF, left hip flexor a bit sore, but my foot is all but better. The day off is in the plan not forced (for a change)

Friday 23rd Septembers run (15miles)

I ran the last 4 miles of the old Reading half marathon route, and repeated till I got to 15; which conveniently was about 150 meters from my house. My legs tired on the last 2 miles or so, but the pace was kept at about 6:50s or so. The weather was bloody awful.

Thursday 22nd Septemers run (8 miles)

I ran with Craig and Nev again this morning. A much easier run this time, we ran from around the Upton nervet area towords Newbury on the tow path, lots of flys on this run, still saves on the need for breakfast. Yum! We also managed to get held up by a railway crossing, not once but twice (!)

Wednesday 21st September (10 miles)

71 minuets along the tow path with Craig and Nev, we tanked it the last mile or so (well I did). Good run really. The light is starting to fade noticably earlier in the evening now, depresing I know, but still running at night makes you thing you are going faster than you are.

Wheels went round and then fell off

Ran the full not just the half marathon on Sunday. 3:11:?? Very good run considering that my longest run was 14 miles and 3 weeks ago. So addicted to it that i've entered Luton in 11 weeks time!! The event suties me I think, I was on for 2:55 up untill 21/22 miles but had no stomach problems, just a lack of miles in my legs. 2:45 would be a resonable target for Luton I think? i ran for 20min around the park today, my right foot is sore; on the outside edge between my Calcaneus and fith Metatarsal. (Heel bone and middle of foot)

Friday 10th Septembers run (20min)

20min easy. I'm going to havve a crack at the half on Sunday. 5:50s will get me round in 1:16:28 which would be a pb. It should be possible provided I don't go off to fast.

Thursday 8th Septembers run (12x400)

Bit short of time, so I sped up the session slightly. 12x400 in 77-78 with 45 second recovery. Very tired but its nice to be running quickly again. The planned session was 30x400 in 80/81 with 45 sec recovery.

Wednesday 7th Septembers run (35min easy)

Saw Rik today, basicly leg is fine now(piriformis) after accupucture. That was fun. 35 easy along the river no problems with the leg atall. Going to have another blast tommorow. 30x400m in 79/80 off 45seconds is the target but it's weather dependant.

Tuesday 6th Septembers run (6 miles)

Arse feeling much better. I went to the track today to get some form of pace judgement. Bit of a mistake because just 1 mile at 5:20 was bloody tough. I went home in a strop and ran to 'the bench' HARD in 14:39 (my best ever is 14:19) and jogged back.
